In case you were wondering about Vehicle Wraps (but afraid to ask?), check out some of the Frequently Asked Questions we hear at WrapsForLess.com,…
What is a vehicle wrap?
A vehicle wrap is the application of a high-performance vinyl material that adheres to a vehicle’s painted surface. This material may be digitally printed with a large-format printer allowing virtually any image (even photographs!) to be used in the wrap design. WrapsForLess.com has an experienced design team to help our Clients achieve a custom look guaranteed to get your vehicle noticed,… and remembered.
How is a vehicle wrap different than paint?
While paint is permanent, a vehicle wrap can actually protect a vehicle’s painted surface. Even better, it can be removed when it comes time to trade-in or sell your vehicle.
Will the wrap peel or fade?
The printed vinyl material is protected from the damaging effects of UV rays with a laminate. The manufacturer warrants their materials from 3-7 years, depending on the product used. WrapsForLess.com prefers to use 3M materials, which are the best in the industry.
How long will the vehicle wrap last?
If properly maintained, a vehicle wrap can last up to 7 years under normal weather conditions. Additionally, lamination protects the vinyl from cracks, peeling and fading.
Can I take my wrapped vehicle through a car wash?
Yes, washing a vehicle wrap with mild soap and water is recommended to keep road grime and debris from causing vehicle wrap fatigue, which can negate the vinyl manufacturer’s warranty. Brush car washes and pressure washers are not recommended.
How long does it take to wrap a vehicle?
In general, the entire process takes about 2 weeks, including design development and approval, printing the material and installing the graphics. The installation team at WrapsForLess.com usually needs 2 days, depending on the size of the vehicle.
Can you wrap windows?
Windows are often wrapped with a perforated vinyl, which allows the driver to see out, but gives privacy from people looking in. Side windows may also be wrapped in the standard vehicle wrap vinyl. The professionals at WrapsForLess.com will make recommendations based on the unique features of each vehicle.
What if my contact information or logo changes?
Following a WrapsForLess.com installation, a partial wrap or patch can be done to your vehicle wrap with adjustments to an existing art file. This may be needed to update business information, such as websites, phone numbers and corporate logos.
Can dents or dings be fixed?
If your vehicle has been in a fender-bender, the WrapsForLess.com team can repair the wrap surface depending on the amount of damage to the vehicle. After body work is complete, with available artwork on file most dents and dings can be addressed with a patch or partial wrap.
Are vehicle wraps expensive?
A vehicle wrap gives you the most exposure for the least amount of money than any other form of advertising, as tracked by Arbitron studies. Compared to leasing a billboard for one month, purchasing radio ads for a week, or one TV spot, the same investment in a vehicle wrap will last for years and be seen by (literally) millions of people! Tax incentives may also be available for wrapped vehicles used for business purposes. The cost of a vehicle wrap is largely based on the square footage of the vehicle’s surface, which is how materials and installation is quoted; art fees may be additional. Contact the team at WrapsForLess.com for a quick quote and be well on your way to driving a moving billboard of your own!
